"AN OCEAN AWAY FROM HOME" WILL PREMIERE AT ILHAVO'S MARITIME MUSEUM

The second documentary directed by Pedro Magano, will premiere on November 4th at Ílhavo's Maritime Museum. On this session, at 22 pm, the diretor will be present to explain some details of this beautiful and intimistic project. The entry is free but limited to 180 places.

" An ocean away from home" is directed by Pedro Magano, who worked side-by-side with the journalist Abel Coentrão, tells the story of the Portuguese fishermen who died in the cod fishing campaigns during the dictatorship years.

Buried in the sea, or in faraway places in Newfoundland and Greenland, those sailors were left behind by the same country that glorified their role in the national efforts to rebuild the image of Portugal as a Country of seamen and navigators.

This documentary wants to rescue these men back home, "in a kind of translation of theirs memory".

"An Ocean Away From Home" can be seen in two more sessions: on November, 5th ate 22pm, in Ílhavo Maritime Museum, and November 16th, at the Municipal Auditorium of Vila do Conde, at 21 pm.
